Here is what some of Pathfinders customers have to say:

Alan Mather

Alan Mather has been out of work since 2001. Alan felt that his main barrier getting back into work has been his dyslexia with which he has lived with all his life; he found it a struggle asking for help.
His last job was for a company called Arcco as a fork lift truck driver. Alan was quite reluctant to go for interviews which had been set up for him by Pathfinder until this particular job came up for a company called PCS, a professional chauffer company.

This job in Alan’s words was his dream job. Alan successfully undertook a three staged interview in which he did so well that the employer offered him a job on the day he had his third interview.

Alan’s appreciates the help he received from pathfinder from sourcing the vacancy to then helping him through the various stages. Alan has kept in touch with Pathfinder just to let us know how he is getting on. He has now been employed by PCS for over 2 months and is really happy in his dream job as a professional chuffer.

Alan gets to drive a nice car, meet famous people and gets great tips!

Seham Hassan

Seham Hassan has been unemployed between 18 months to 2 years. Seham has never worked before due to being the main carer for her parents and siblings.
The Pathfinder team helped source the vacancy for Seham as a carer as it was a field she wanted to go into. A carers coach helped her complete her POVA and CRB check along with making her CV.
Seham had an interview with Manchester Asian Carers in Cheetham Hill and has successfully secured employment as a care assistant.

Claire Day

Claire Day has been unemployed between 6 to 12 months. She has had various temp job roles mainly being in retail and administration.
Claire had a 3 month placement at A4e where she was able to develop her existing experience and gave her the confidence to go and seek employment in the field she wanted.
Pathfinder helped Claire tailor her CV for administration work. She was also given the opportunity to attend a Co op event which helped her gain experience in interview preparation, applying for jobs and filling application forms correctly.

Claire had an interview with Hilton Hotel in Liverpool and has successfully secured employment as an admin assistant.

Ann Cash

Hulme resident Ann Cash was made redundant from her job as a receptionist in spring this year. She heard about the Pathfinder scheme and they are helping her to find a new job.

“The advice I am being given by the Pathfinder team is really useful. They are helping me decide what sort of jobs I should apply for and helping me fill in application forms.”

Shamaz Iqbal

Local resident Shamaz was out of work for five months but started a new job in customer services last week through Pathfinder’s help.

“The support I’ve had from Pathfinder has been great. They suggested I attend a jobs event held by CIS, then they helped me with my CV. The next day I sent my CV off for a few jobs and just a few days later I was offered a job!”

Iram Afzal

Iram is looking for her first job and is very interested in working with children and asked Pathfinder for advice on getting the right training.

“I have always wanted to work in child care but I knew I would need to get qualifications but I wasn’t sure how to go about it. Pathfinder have found a course I can do and I hope to start very soon.”

Ann, Shamaz and Iram are all looking forward to new careers through working with the Pathfinder Team
